**We are asking participants to purchase and wear one of the t shirts we are making to create a cohesive look and effect. Pick a slogan and purchase here soon to receive in time for the event http://someonetshirts.spreadshirt.com/ We’ve only made the most inexpensive woman’s shirts so far. There is no mark up on these shirts. FYI sizes of this particular t shirt run on the large side. We will make men’s versions as needed. Let us know if you’d like a unisex version of any of these.

We are also inviting Peace & Justice, Spiritual and Environmental groups to join us.

Animal agriculture is directly responsible for many of the world’s most serious environmental problems, including global climate change, deforestation, air and water pollution and species extinction. Three quarters of the food we grow is fed to imprisoned animals for meat and dairy, while roughly a billion people are chronically hungry and starving. Each year, approximately 58 billion animals are cruelly housed and killed in the world’s factory farms and slaughterhouses to produce meat, eggs, and dairy. A UN report urges a global shift towards a plant-based diet and the American Dietetic Association, the leading nutrition authority in the United States, affirms that “vegan and other types of vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence.”

Our event seeks to bring together a diversity of organizations to signal their concern about these issues and to encourage and promote a non violent, healthy and globally sustainable plant based diet. If your group would like to join us please contact katedanaher@animalearthhuman.org or just show up with a logo sign to carry during the walk.

WORLD FARMED ANIMALS DAY is observed on (or around) October 2nd. This annual occasion is observed with activities in all 50 U.S. states and two dozen other countries and the date marks the birthday of ethical vegetarian Mahatma Gandhi. http://www.wfad.org/
